Breen Energy for Bloomberg Businessweek

A few weeks ago I spent a morning in Carnegie, PA, just south of Pittsburgh, working with Cal Lockert of Breen Energy Solutions. Breen, which has an office near a small workshop, and then a factory space in a former steel mill just down the street, offers solutions to the acidic waste that is the byproduct of coal burning power plants. Essentially, they add calcium compounds to neutralize the waste.

The former steel mill was an interesting building- numerous businesses have space in it, and each company's "section" is marked off by chalk on the ground.
